Sep 18 2006	New Child Seat Belt and Car Seat Legislation New government legislation for child seat belts and car seats came into affect today. It is now a legal requirement for drivers to ensure that every child travelling in a car or goods vehicle uses an appropriate car restraint until a child is 135 cms in height or 12 years old, whichever comes first.
Sep 5 2007	Absences Please notify the school on the first day of any absence as to why your child is not in school.
Sep 5 2007	Holidays in Term Time Please endeavour to not take your children out of school for holidays during term time. Should you need to ask for time off school for your children for a holiday, be it a single day or more, permission must be sought from the Governors through the Headteacher. Schools can only authorise a maximum of 10 school days absence for holiday during an acaemic year, although authorising is only given in exceptional circumstances. Please consider the effect the absence will have on your child's education and avoid absences in May when many children undertake important tests.
Sep 5 2007	School Security The side gate to the school off Lovers Walk will now be locked at all times, although it will be used a fire exit when appropriate. Please use the main school gate from Water Street for all access to the school.
Sep 10 2007	Parking We ask that everyone who needs to park near the school does so carefully with due respect for the Law, other road users and the community as a whole. The issue of traffic congestion at the beginning and end of the school day continues to affect the village community.
Sep 10 2007	Tesco 'Computers for Schools' Vouchers Please ask friends and family who shop at Tesco to collect the Computers for Schools vouchers and send these into school. We will use our 'banked' vouchers from last year together with this years collection total to 'buy' new computer equipment and software for the children to use in school.
Oct 1 2007	School Closure because of Severe Weather Should it be necessary to close the school because of severe weather conditions or a heating system failure information will be announced on 2CR during the Breakfast Show from 6 am to 9 am. If you are in any doubt please telephone the school as Mrs Mills will be on duty at the beginning of the day on such occasions.

Feb 2 2009	SEVERE WEATHER Please listen to 2CR radio between 6 am and 9 am for bulletins of school closures because of severe weather. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation today when the school was closed due to major road closures which stopped staff from getting to Cranborne.
