Building Project - February 2010
We have now held our last school assembly in the old school Hall and handed the building over to the contractors. The electricity has been switched off and the wiring disabled. The resources from the building have been carefully sorted and temporary new home found for everything we can reuse. We are grateful to Cranborne Estate and Cranborne Middle School for their help with this.
The school site on Castle Street will be sealed off and the children will have no access to it. The project will begin with the careful demolition of the old school hall. The contractors will ensure that all health and safety regulations are fully enforced at all times.
If you have any information or memories of the old school hall (HORSA building) please let us know as we are compiling a book of memories for our school and the community archive.
To view the plans (x 4) and exterior/interior perspectives (x 6) please open the icons below.
Copies of these plans and images are available in the School Office, and in Cranborne Stores and Cranborne Post Office. If you have any questions about the building project or anything else about the school please contact the School Office.

Safeguarding Children and Child Protection
The safety of everyone in the school community is a primary concern at all times and is everyone’s responsibility. Cranborne CE VA First School recognises that the welfare of the child is paramount and takes seriously its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in its care. If appropriate, the school will seek the advice and help of outside agencies in dealing with more specialised problems. For example, the Education Social Worker (ESW) will liaise between home and school. We may also seek advice from the Educational Psychologist, the School Medical Officer, Social Services, the Speech & Language Therapist and the Child Guidance Service.
In all these cases parents will be kept fully informed at all times.
Our first priority is your child’s welfare and therefore they may be occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies before we contact you. The Bournemouth,
